PLDS Livelihood Program
Cows and goats given to families living below the poverty line, so they have a lasting source of income and nutrition.

About this program
Livestock is a valuable income-generating asset for poor families in Bangladesh. Milk provides nutrition and extra income, and animals can also be sold for meat and hides. A few animals can change a family’s economic situation.
PLDS gave 135 cows and 50 goats to families living below the poverty line in three districts. Over time, these families can earn a steady, lasting income from rearing the animals.
Community outcomes
135 cows and 50 goats given to 185 families across 3 districts (600 beneficiaries).
